puluiche is a Journal of Critical and Creative Writing of the Department of English, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus, Anambra State, Nigeria.
The Journal was founded in 2024 by Dr. Ikechukwu Asika, the Head of the Department of English, COOU, Igbariam Campus.
The Journal is a product of the transformational agenda of the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, and one of the laudable initiatives of the Department of English to increase the University’s visibility and promote her values.
Opuluiche is a Journal born out of a desire to create a “Department Everyone Will Love.” It is established to serve as a creative hub for the students of the Department of English of COOU and beyond to express their creative voices, see the potential in every one of them, and dare to plant their seeds of creativity in a nurturing environment as serene as that of COOU.
Just as the name implies, the Journal reminds all the students in the Department of English of COOU that we are unique and different and that uniqueness will someday lead us to our desired height of greatness and financial breakthrough.
The Igbo people say a beautiful thing does not need to be viewed through a magnifying lens. This is indeed Opuluiche—a beauty in book form! Opuluiche is indeed a child of testimony so that art, talent, and creativity may live forever!
